Bunaken National Marine Park, established in 1991, is one of Indonesia’s earliest marine parks, covering 89,065 hectares—97% of which is clear, warm tropical sea, while the remaining 3% includes the islands of Bunaken, Manado Tua, Mantehage, Nain, and Siladen. Its waters plunge to 1,566 meters in Manado Bay, offering visibility up to 35–40 meters, and maintain pleasant temperatures of 27–29°C, creating one of the world’s richest marine ecosystems, with 7 of the world’s 8 giant clam species, around 70 coral genera, and possibly over 2,500 fish species. You will be picked up from your hotel in Manado at 8:00 AM (7:30 AM from Novotel Manado) and transferred to a local dive center to receive your snorkeling equipment before a one-hour boat ride to Bunaken Island (weather permitting). Upon arrival, enjoy snorkeling at several different reef spots to experience the vibrant underwater life, with lunch served onboard.
