Depart from Manado on a 7–8 hour scenic drive to your homestay, Tanta Mien, where you will stay for two nights with warm hospitality and home-cooked meals. The journey leads to Bogani Nani Wartabone National Park, a vast forest reserve known for excellent birdwatching near Dolodua and Toraut villages. Visit the famous Maleo nesting ground at Tambun, protected by the Wildlife Conservation Society – Indonesia Program, where you have a good chance of spotting the rare Maleo, especially at dawn or dusk. Please note the homestay is about one hour from Tambun.
